Beyonce and Jay-Z At $190,000,000, the Tadao Ando-designed residence recently purchased by Beyonce and Jay-Z ranks as the most ever paid for a California home and the second most expensive American house. The 40,000-square-foot mansion sits on eight acres above Paradise Cove on “Billionaire’s Row” and enjoys unobstructed Pacific Ocean and coastline views along with direct access to the beach. Originally owned and built by art collector William Bell to display his extensive collection, the home took 7,645 cubic yards of concrete and 15 years to complete.

Jeff Bridges

The home Jeff and Susan Bridges have purchased for $8.2 million on 1.2 acres in Hope Ranch near Santa Barbara boasts two master retreats, each with a fireplace, walk-in closets and luxurious ensuite baths. Also found in the 4890-square-foot residence are hardwood floors, soaring vaulted ceilings and floor-to-ceiling French doors. Also on the property are a two-bedroom guesthouse with a fireside living room, kitchen and bath, a palapa-shaded pool and spa, sauna, kitchen and a sunken fire pit. Hope Ranch offers its residents security patrol, beach access, tennis courts and horse trails.

Katy Perry has paid $11 million for a stylish 3000-square-foot penthouse in Sierra Towers, a 31-story West Hollywood high rise that has been home to many A-List celebrities. A previous owner combined two smaller condos into the current space, which encompasses two large bedrooms, three bathrooms, a private office, a plush red movie theater, built-in yoga wall and a wet bar created from exotic zebra wood. The ensuite master bath is enhanced by white marble and views of the nearby Hollywood Hills.
