According to a recent survey from lock manufacturer, Schlage, 75% of Gen Z apartment residents said Wi-Fi should be pre-installed and they’ll pay $31 more in rent per month to get it. Even more importantly, many of the most popular smart locks require Wi-Fi to give property managers remote control over access, among other useful things.
